GM Diet Wonder Soup
Soup and GM Diet go hand in hand. GM Diet famous for it’s quick weight loss plan of about 10 pounds in a week owes much of its effects to the wonder soup that is a big part of the diet plan. The wonder soup can be eaten in unlimited quantities and on any day of the General Motors Diet.
The recipe is pretty straight forward and very easy to make.
Wonder Soup Ingredients:
- Onions – 6 large onions
- Green Peppers – 2
- Tomatoes – 3
- Cabbage – 1
- Celery – 1 bunch
- Water – 22 oz of water
Directions:
- Start off with the onions and green pepper. Cut up the onions and green pepper and lightly saute it with a few drops of olive oil till they turn a light brown.
- Next up is the celery, tomatoes and cabbage. Chop them up and add everything to a large pot with water.
- Bring it to a boil and slow cook it till everything is tender. You probably need to cook this for close to 60 min. Add salt, dried herbs or spices and pepper for seasoning.
That’s pretty much there is to it. The wonder soup can be eaten in unlimited quantities and is a real delight to eat. Anytime you find yourself hungry on any day of the GM Diet, the wonder soup is the way to go. Make sufficient quantities each day so that when hunger pangs hit you, you have something you can quickly warm up and eat.
The GM Diet wonder soup is really tasty as well, you will find yourself eating this even when you are not on a diet.

im confused as to whether the soup can be consumed starting day 1 or not?
You an use as much of the soup as you want on all days except 1 and 4. Day one is your kick off day so it needs to be just fruit.
do we need to consume those vegetable dishes without salt / seasoning?
Can we subsitute the green pepper with something else as I really dislike green peppers.

On this soup I used two onions, one cabbage head, three large carrots, six celery stalks. two onions soup mixes, and four cups v-8 juice. I put in about four cups of water. I simmered this until the veggies were soft. Very good soup. This batch made 12 cups of soup.
Can I substitute celery with another vegetable?
Try carrots instead.

Today is my 3rd day of this diet.Yesterday I saw, that I have lost about 500 gramms in 2 days. The most difficult thing for me is to drink a lot of water. What can I do?

Any vegetable is ok, try to avoid beans/legumes tho as they are high in calories.

I am starting the GM Diet today. I made my HUGE batch of soup yesterday. I didn’t think my pot would hold all of the vegetables! A coworker of mine and his wife have done the diet 2 weeks in a row. The first week he lost 12 lbs and she lost 9 lbs. They are in their second week now, so I am not sure of the progress this time. He gave me some tips on the soup recipe which made it delicious!
1 14 oz can of unsalted tomato juice
1 head of cabbage
14 oz. water
6 celery stalks
2 whole onions
2 packets on onion soup powder mix
2 green peppers
Salt and pepper to taste and simmer at least 1 hour to get vegetables tender.
I put all of this in my food processor (slicer) and dumped it in a pot, put the soup mix over the vegetables and poured the juice and water over it. Great flavor and easy to make!

salt and seasonings are fine… Keep in mind on the scale you may retain some water weight if you eat too much salt.

Actully the recipe of the magic soup given is fine but i have a dout the quantity of the ingredents are more so can i reduce the quantity of the ingredients to prepare soup according to my capacity of intake for a day…please help

Yes cook the tomatoes, assuming you are using only things on the approved list to make a soup, yes that is fine. Carrots are OK, never ever use cooking spray, so bad for you, try organic coconut oil, use some to saute if you need.

I’m on my second day now . This is the first time im trying gm diet. . But I feel lik fainting n very tired. . I cant do light exercise also.. but it is mentioned to do exercise for one hour. . Wat to do?? Most of the times I feel sleepy si slept off in t afternoon. . Can I sleep during mid day? And is it compulsory to do exercises? ?
When you cut caffeine, sugar, wheats and such, you will feel detoxy so to speak for a few days.Hang in there. Rest if you need to. Exercise, look into burst or HIT training, fast, better for the body, takes less time and much more effective.
Is exercise compulsory during this diet? I mean im goin to gym.. but I feel very tired .. I can’t walk properly too.
Just be careful, especially the first 2 days, so listen to your body. Try HIT training, be careful with exercising too much.
Can I know what is HIT training?
Burst training, high intensity for shorter bursts, instead of having to workout hours a day, Google it…
After finishing this cycle wen can I start the next round? ? I mean how much gap should be taken for the next round..
And after completing this round how to follow my diet in order to not regain my weight again? ?
my recommendation is a month at least. Stop eating the way you w ere before. Eat 3 meals a day, stop snacking, cut sweets, join the forum and I can help further if you like…

I have started this diet plan 3rd time 1st time I cant propelry check my wieght how much I lost 2nd time I did last month while doing heavy JYM exerices and I think I lost 1.5 kg as I cant drink 10 water and i was taking one cup tea without sugar .. Third time I have started and my 2nd day is over. I did one thing I tried wonder soup and my soup was not thick it was like water so I read yr recipe and will make soup thick like u did. I m drinking now 10 glass water and not going JYm only one or 1.5 hr walk. I m adding one thing in wonder soup that is one chiken cube as I cant find mix vegs soup and clerely I read it now which I cant find in Pakistan so I will add carrot in it in my tmw soup. I m adding green leabves green chili and blakc paper and salt to drink it now I will eat it as i read the reall recipe . Can u pls tell me chiken cube is ok for soup and I want to add one boiled Egg in my salad As its hard to eat bloied begs or fresh salad. anny day only for one time And is it possible to add some corns in one time in salad. Your soup recipe is OK and a chicken cube is OK. I will be changing that recipe soon, I cannot stand processed foods and the Knorrs package must come out. Natural always better. But yes a cube is fine. Corn just a little is OK. Don;t over drink water either 8 glasses may be enough. Only eat eggs when you see meat called for in the plan, you cannot add eggs when you like. Throughly I m feeling healthy and lighter but I felt Kidney ligther pains on both sides I think its bcz of Lots of urine ( I m already passing lots of urine since my childhood) as I m drinking 8-10 glass water so Might be its becz of water but Ever one can see difference in me. On the water, don’t over drink it, drink as thirsty, maybe for you 6 glasses is OK. Too much water can actually be hard on your kidneys. On the changes. When a meal calls for meat, you can sub in another protein like eggs, chicken or fish. But no you cannot just have an egg when you like.

I m v v v happy Today was my 6th day and I lost 5.5 kg I still hv one day to check it might be I will loos one more KG or half KG
trust me I do lots of cheating in all 6 days I will share my planned foods after tomorrow.
But this time I started 1st day with melon and I took lots of water 8-10 glass confirmed and wonder soup.
Total I lost in 60 days is 11 kg 5.5 kg in JYM within 30 day and rest with one week s GM Diet.

Do stewed or roasted tomato with spices. yes on tofu although to me there is nothing healthy about it at all, so processed and not a complete protein. Proceed at your own risk.

Checkout the Indian or Vegetarian version in the footer below this. Legumes, keep in mind when replacing meat each time you must have fat with it. Meaning meat has fat, your replacement should have some, so if you did legumes and a teaspoon or 2 of olive oil.

roast them, blend them into a soup, use garlic, onions and spices to help. Stew them up to you. read day 5 vegetarian plan, it tells you when to take rice.

no, sorry. lentil,s have protein, etc. This soup is benign so to speak during the diet. You can change up the veg and add spices as you like though.

We lay out each day for you. But you can add soup any day of the diet, as much as you need, It is there to help you nit be hungry, you can add salt, pepper, spices to the soup if you like.

Since we are not doctors we cannot offer medical advice. I will say though, if you have gastric/digestive issues, your food should be cooked, raw foods are very tough on digestion. My wife has issues, so she does not do anything raw really right now until she heals her guts.
On day 1 can we eat as much fruit as we want or does it have to be a certain amount! I usually eat apples or watermelon alot!
normal off diet, stick with 2 to 3 servings of fruit. Day 1, basically as much as you like, just stop before you get too full, never overeat π

By d end of last month I read the article of gm diet and I decided to go forth for it. On my first attempt I lost 4kgs in a span of just five days, however, I was interrupted by a mandatory cause n I had to go out of station and as such I couldn’t continue with the diet. So after a gap of a week I have started d diet again and m on the second day now, but m confused if starting it again dis early might hamper my health, if not, will d diet work on me as effectively as the last time???

Hi , I am suffereing from high bp and I suffered from polio in legs when I was 3 month old. Now I am 32 and have gained weight upto 65kgs doctors told me reduce weight as I am having walking challege. I am following this plan today is my first day. So not to get faint and weekness I just strted with a tea less suger and a chapati that has ajwain. as I donot want to faint. If you are eating chapati you have 100% ruined this diet, Those are empty carbs/calories and are junk to your body. they give you false energy, cause weight gain, etc. Sorry. I can’t help you further if you’re eating bread.

no on gourd day 2, actually you can for breakfast in place of potato. You can sub other veg in the soup as you like. Just no corn or peas, and few carrots.

yoyo happens when not completing a plan. the last few days are more normal eating, don’t stop. also when you come off this program, eat healthy balanced meals.

they are pure sugar really. 2 are basically 2 servings of fruit. It’s not in one sense so much the carbs, they are just a bad choice. So be careful.

not technically OK, you have to have protein working out with weights, so either do the egg whites and weights or cut the weights until you get protein.

No, they will be loaded with sugar, not to mention chemicals, fake colors and so on. Unless you want to gain weight you have to not drink stuff like that. You can do unsweetened almond milk if you like. sorry. Good luck though π

You can do some steamed veg instead of soup.
Legumes, quinoa or rice can be used for meat. Each of these needs some good fat like ghee.

best to wait at least 2 week. I can tell you the worst thing for your knee issues will be gluten (chapati) and sugar. You should not be eating bread on this program.

You need at least a 2 week break in between each set. However you can still go gluten and sugar free, almost eating similar to day 6 in between that time. If anything cutting processed foods, sugar and wheat will make your skin a ton better.

1. On day 5, can i cook rice with smashed tomatoes, salt and chilli powder, to make it taste like tomato rice? Or do I need to eat plain rice only?
2. I make the soup following way. Is this ok for the diet?
cabbage, beans, capsicum and 1or2 baby corn, water, salt and pepper — Boil all these together for 3-4 mins.
3. Can i eat dal with rice on day 5, 6 and 7.
4. Is adding tamarind to any dishes during the diet good or bad?

I used to never check my weight until after the 7th day.
1) Nope, add spices however you want and enjoy. When you replace meat, you need a little fat. Meat has fat naturally, so should your dish.
2) No beans!!!!! Why are you adding beans to the soup? Beans are not a vegetable. Beans have loads of carbs, and vegetables have a trace amount. Plus beans have protein. Beans are OK as a meat replacement day 5 and 6, but then you would not need rice. This is a huge mistake and will mess up the program.
Beans are and can be healthy, but you cannot change the program.
No baby corn, they are not OK. Where did you get this recipe? Please read the Wonder Soup recipe….
3) Dal, yes but you need to reduce the rice you eat.
4) NO! It is OK after the program.
5) No, unless you want to gain weight. It’ sugar, giving it a fancy name does not change the fact that it’s sugar.
I truly suggest you re-read this program and try and follow it more closely. Sorry….

Corn is technically a grain, it’s nutrient dead, a big GMO product so not recommended. However you should be fine. Keep on going π Make sure that rice has fat, meat does, so the replacement should.

Another meat is the best way to go when replacing beef. So yes the chicken is great.White is better to many anyway. So yes on white. No, you cannot buy paneer in shops. You have no clue what oils they use, are they using MSG, sugar, etc. Sure buffalo curd is fine.

1) For day 5.Instead of raw tomatoes can I make them into pieces nd cook with chicken nd have.I dont tak beef.So as you said I prefer chicken.I prefer to saute onion tomatoes garlic in litle olive oil and add salt pepper cumin jeera spices nd add chicken piece nd cook.Then when its tender will have them.Can I also add chillies or chilli powder?I love to add.
2)In my day 3 I had melon nd papaya for breakfast nd veg soup for lunch then again melon papaya for dinner.There was bandh in my place nd I could not get other vegetables nd fruits for my day3.Was that fine for my day 3 or did I do any mistake?

1) You cook the tomato if you like. Chicken is great, and how you mentioned cooking is fine. Chili’s in any form are great.
2) DO the best you can, you are fine like that.

Second doubt- I usually walk for 3kms in morning follwed by 20mins of yoga and 15 mins of aerobics and around 2kms in the evening(just started yesterday) .Is this fine for GM diet plan???

Salt, pepper and spices are fine. The only issue with salt if you eat to much is you might retain some water weight. Sprouts should only be used in moderation but are post plan great to have. Don’t tear down your muscles for the first few days ,you have no protein to rebuild. Good luck π

And I have reduced 12kg…I have given 5 days gap
For 2nd diet plan…I was 110kg after 2 diet now its 98kg thanks to GM diet..
My advice is pls do exercise after diet plan complets.

Cooking is great, you really should have no oil unless we say, a very tiny bit will be OK. However if you microwave your food, you have 100% killed any nutrients it may have. Please stop killing your food π My house came with a microwave, I store spices in it…

Study it, how is irradiating your food good though? Up to you, trust me when i say this, science easily backs it up, if you want a sure fire way to 100% ruin everything you eat, the microwave will do it. Keep rolling, all should be OK …

1.5kg is actually really good. Keep in mind there are variables that can cause the weight to be less at times: Examples would be someone cheats a little, under lying health issues like thyroid problems and cortisol issues. Also ladies sometimes struggle more due to their hormones and so on. Also keep in mind weight loss is progressive, this diet should also change your mindset about food.

1) Go gluten free.
2) No sugar
3) Cut all bad fats.

The loss is great first of all, congrats. I have mentioned just in another post weight loss may vary for reasons such as hormones (ladies), underlying health issues like thyroid issues or high cortisol levels. Just to name a couple. Your diet looks good to me except day 6. Why so little food? You could have had 3 meals and a snack, each needed protein. But that is it, looks perfect to me…

Well, your thyroid issue is not technically controlled by medicine. Sure it helps depending on what you have. But if you have a thyroid issue you should NEVER eat gluten/wheat. I found out I had a thyroid issue although it’s early on and I am actually healing already thanks to my functional healthcare person. But look at a test I did. Anything in red means I have a severe auto immune reaction to it. Why? All of those foods have their own kind of gluten, a genius guy found out it mimics the protein molecule found in wheat and reacts the same with your thyroid. I cannot have these foods until I heal and retest. Just because you are on meds, has nothing to do with whether you can eat foods that react with your thyroid. Well it’s all new science. What was happening was people with thyroid issues go gluten free. Yet they eat all of this junk gluten food. Rice for example has gluten, just a different type. This PHD doctor – scientist guy realized his patients were not healing after cutting wheat type gluten. If you cannot do the test, you do what;s called an elimination diet, basically you go do to meat/legumes (if you are vegetarian) and veg. Do that 30 days and then intro the foods 1 at a time every 14 days or so. I had to eat these foods 3 times a week for 3 weeks to do the test and I was literally miserable. Hope it all goes well, get to know Dr. K… He is the man on this topic.
Oh no, you cannot have those foods if you have thyroid issues possibly. Likely you cannot but you have to test. Any food in red I CANNOT have. Scary right, but at least I know. My main carbs are plantains, plantian flour, bananas and other fruit.

1) You can, however It will not be great for the thyroid, however may be much better for your thyroid then what you are doing now. Example if you eat wheat and sugar, your thyroid will worsen and never get better. So at least this program is gluten and sugar free.

You need a deep understanding of the thyroid to understand why you should not do this diet unless you were to add good fat to it, meaning every meal. It is gluten and sugar free which are the 2 top things you need to cut with a thyroid issue. I can share with you how I ate if you like which healed my thyroid.

1) No, they are not a veg, here I eat long green sprouts with no beans. You mean beans wit ha tiny green sprout. They may be healthy, I would never eat beans unless they were sprouted. HOWEVER, they do not fit in that day at all. They may have a little protein which is hard for the body to uptake, but they are also carby.
2) eggs and paneer. Soya, never. Why only whites? The yolk has all of the nutrition. 3 eggs per meal max.

Oh my, 3 cups of curd? Knorr soup is not allowed at all. Please, you truly need to read each day on this site carefully. Day 5 replace what we say to eat for beef with chicken.
Aurther i read in gm diet faq that you can replace butter milk with curd..untill it doesnot contain any sugar
curd is OK, but curd is way fattier then it;s equal in milk. 1 cup of milk does not equal 1 cup of curd.

not a must. it can help however you will be fine off of it. yes it helps with fiber, minerals also and good fiber. No tomato soup, it is not the same nutritionally at all. it’s pure carbs as opposed to our soup not.

1) can I add chicken stock and chicken boneless pieces to the soup?
I can’t seem robust understand boiling only vegetables with out adding any chicken stock or chicken cubes for taste.
2) day 2 breakfast, what can I put on the boiled potato?? Like cream or butter , is either allowed ?
3) day 4, the bananas and milk day, are no other fruits and vegetables allowed ?
1) not to the wonder soup no not at all, not the point of the soup. the soup can be eaten any day, adding what you want makes it not the same nutritionally.

soup mixes like that are junk food. So only pure dried herbs and spices. the hamburger patty is fine if you make it and it’s pure. Not from a junk food place.

I am on day 3 and haven’t lost any weight, but the body seems to be in better shape. On day 2, I cheated a little.. 4 sips of tea and half a cookie(oats) at about 12 noon, as I was feeling very lethargic and had a headache. But after that, almost magically, I got a lot of energy which lasted the entire day.Has this cookie thing ruined my diet plan? On day 3 now, however, I am on veggies, fruits and wonder soup and there is no craving weakness etc.
For day five, can I replace beef with soya chunks instead of paneer?

Today is my second day of the GM diet.I did not realise that corn should not be taken. I had one full corn during the day. Is this going to hamper my results of weight loss. it can, most corn is junk food, no nutrients and technically a grain. I say start over, why are you eating beans? Beans are not a veg. Also no more than 1 carrot please. Are you reading the program here? did the potato have good fat? This seems like a variation of our plan fro ma site that offers zero support.

well, if you have a thyroid issue you need to have a diet that focuses on healing the thyroid. This diet is focused only on weight loss. Although it is gluten free which is vital for someone with a thyroid problem, I would day if you do this plan each day needs more good fat in it, every day does actually. Has your doc told you how to eat? No juice like that….

hi, I found this soup to thin. Could I use a tin of pure tomato soup, or perhaps blended tomato’s, or tin of chopped tomato’s to thicken it? or is there something out there that will thicken the end result?
you can blend some, most soups are never pure…
so using a normal tomato soup as a base is a no go?

so if I purchase a tin of chopped tomato’s and blend them right down, add it to this mixture. that would be ok?

1) Eating raw/boiled veggies is quite tough for me. In Day 2 today, and I did take lots of veggies, but with 1 teaspoon of mayo and 1 teaspoon of chocolate syrup(for a light dip/touch). The mayo and chocolate syrup were fat free. I understand I am wrong. But will this stop giving me results on weight reduction?
2) I am planning to repeat the program again and again with 3 days gap. Is that fine?

1) Did you have the potato and good fat day 2? You actually need fat funny enough. So fat free even makes them more junky and so un-natural. Sorry. Why is fat bad? Good fats are vital to weight loss and health. Yes they will hinder the plan. however keep going.

I know you had potato, did it have food fat. a teaspoon and a half fine for that potato, after that a dash n each meal good.
Good fats, pastured animal fats, grass fed better, ghee, olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil and avocado for example.
ad oils, non organic and heat pressed. any veg oil like canola, sunflower, veg, safflower, and so on are full of Omega 6’s, stored in plastic bottles and rancid normally. Think nutrient dense with 100% of what you put in our body.
me along with 7 friends have started .. lot of motivation going around.. we are on our first day…made a full plan on google doc and shared it with everyone…but still have few doubts…havent got my reply for previous query.. ..as there are friends from interior regions where u do not get all the fruits …
